On Huckabee and His Base – Bill Maher and Guests

Dan Savage headed for South Carolina and mingled amongst Huckabee supporters…all of it filmed and, as is Savage’s forte, provided a humorous, telling profile of those folks down there who, apparently, see Huckabee as the Second Coming. The video is good, providing both light moments and–if you think about it–witness to the sincere and dangerous specter of otherwise good people believing there isn’t anything wrong in electing a President who advocates restructuring the Constitution to reflect the “Word of God.” I think that’s called “Theocracy,” y’all.

Fabulous video, thanks for dredging that up; I’ve often enjoyed Savage as a social critic. And Maher is still difficult to watch sometimes, not because I disagree, but because he resembles a 70 year old lesbian. That just gets me.

Oh my, Stephen… I will never again be able to watch Maher without a determinable nod of the head. Yes, the allusion fits. You’re right. OMG!
